Pattern for Indian Kantha Purse designed by Paula Simpson. Kantha means ‘rags’ in ancient Sanskrit. It is the name given to a form of stitching used to make quilts and covers from the good parts of old worn saris. It can also be a way of using small pieces of leftover or recycled fabric to create a small hand stitched piece.
