Floral Abundance Quilt pattern pack by Deborah Kemball

Floral exuberance from Deborah Kemball + a Giveaway

Are you craving more gorgeous appliqué from award-winning designer Deborah Kemball? The Floral Abundance Quilt is an utterly exuberant mix of floral motifs in Deborah's signature style and its new pattern pack is a 'must'. You'll be crafting your future heritage!

It’s so exciting to see Floral Abundance available as a pattern pack. It’s a quilt I love and one that has brought me so much pleasure throughout its making; from the challenge of its conception, the thrill of the design coming together to its final hanging on the wall. To see it as a pattern pack is the icing on the cake.

The pack includes instructions and pattern sheets to make this stunning quilt in two colourways, as well as demonstrating how to turn any of the nine blocks into a sophisticated pillow. Step-by-step instructions guide you through each of the appliquéd motifs and show you how to embellish them with embroidery. A helpful 'Basics' section shares Deborah's hints and tips on using freezer paper and plastic templates in your appliqué. The booklet demystifies these detailed projects, making them simpler than they appear and a true joy to create.

Aficionados will also love Deborah's insights into how Floral Abundance came about.

Love the look but prefer a smaller project?

If the full Floral Abundance Quilt is a stretch too far, then try one of the smaller projects in our Deborah Kemball Studio Collection. And if softer palettes are your thing, check out her beautiful Lagaveen and Bosveen designs.

For further insights, Deborah describes her passion for appliqué, embroidery and quilting by hand and how she uses shot cottons for the lustre and life they add to her designs.

In reply to Janet’s question (28 February)
Deborah Kemball does not have any current plans to offer individual elements of Floral Abundance. However, as you may have seen on our website, Deborah has provided us with a number of templated designs for which we offer a fabric pack – designs which are not dissimilar to the panels of Floral Abundance. You might like to take a look at Chilli Pepper Wreath, Sumac on a Rainy Day, Lagaveen, Bosveen and Window Box. The Lagaveen and Bosveen designs are also available in our paler Herringbone and Longshott colours.
You can see the Deborah Kemball Studio Collection here https://www.oakshottfabrics.com/collections/deborah-kemball-studio-collection
If you were to order one or more of these panels, you could easily add a cut length of an additional colour eg black, for use as the background.
I hope this helps you to choose your project and we’d love to see the results!
